Hello Friends,

A stay at home mom of three wild and beautiful spirits, turned homeschool mama, I’m venturing out of the home to pursue passions outside my family.

A big feeler, Covid rocked my already unsteady foundation spinning me into the highest level of anxiety I’d yet experienced. Panic attacks, phobias, and constant dread…PLUS perimenopause! I had to find some tools. Ignoring the pain and pushing through wasn’t working anymore. I found my way back to yoga, to meditation, therapy, and yes medication.

If this resonates with you, know you’re not alone. I’m still working on my mental health everyday.

I started my yoga journey over two decades ago in Corvallis, Oregon as a young 20 something thinking that yoga was something to accomplish. Oh, to be young again. I finished my 200hr YTT program with Uplifted in Fall 2022 and recently completed my 300hr YTT with Uplifted Yoga to be a certified 500hr trained teacher.

Another tool that has helped me is writing. I found River Writing out of Salt Lake City through a dear friend. A stream of consciousness style of writing to connect to the authentic voice. Wanting to bring something similar to Ketchikan and write with others in person, I’ve created Writing in the Rain.

Inside Passage Wellness was born above Uncharted Alaska Distillery. Then called Yoga on the Rock (living on a literal rock and being above a distillery). Yoga in Ketchikan has a rich past as teachers have come and gone… Yoga Haven, Yoga on the Creek and a slew of amazing teachers teaching out of people’s homes, at the rec center, and yes above a distillery.

We (by “we” I mean my amazing husband/contractor) built our new studio in May of 2025. My hope for this studio is to curate a space that feels welcoming and safe. Where no matter your experience, politics, beliefs, etc we can connect through our human experience. To set down our defense mechanisms and step into a place of authenticity held by our agreements.

I hope to see your face soon,

Charley
